The Path to PRC

The PRC Board requires that you have three years’ experience in the practice of marketing research/analytics.

1. Qualify for the Exam – Once you have accrued the requisite 12 education credits, you may wish to prepare for the exam in a number of ways.

    Note: Individuals who pass the Principles of Marketing Research Program administered by the University of Georgia will receive an exam exemption.

2. Schedule Your Exam – The PRC exam is available online. You must register for the online exam at least 48 hours in advance.

3. Pass the PRC Exam – Congratulations! You are now authorized to include PRC after your name and utilize the PRC logo/mark.

Applicants must have three years of relevant industry experience

12 industry-related education hours within the two preceding years are required at time of application

Complete and verify that you have spent 10 hours per year on continuing education (CE) and professional development (PD) which satisfy IPC Guidelines (coming in 2020) through an honor system backstopped by IA audits. This CE and PD may come from education providers from outside the insights industry: for instance, a class on presentation skills or one on statistical programming would qualify. 

 Exam

Applicants are required to pass an exam

The PRC exam is a self-study exam and does not require a prescribed curriculum. 

Candidates may choose their own method of preparing for the exam. 

The Certification Department does not endorse or sponsor any review courses for the PRC Certification exam.

Applicants must meet the experience and education requirement to apply for certification. 

Once approved you have one year to take the exam

Your certification is renewed every two years

 Exemption

Individuals who pass the Principles of Marketing Research Program administered by the University of Georgia will receive an exam exemption. Completion of the Principles of Marketing Research Certificate course must have been completed in the last five years of application date.

There are no exemptions
