CIRQ, an International Standards Organization (ISO) audit and certification body that is a subsidiary of the Insights Association, has awarded certification to Mongolian Marketing Consulting Group (MMCG) for compliance to the ISO 20252:2019 Standard—Market, opinion and social research, including insights and data analytics.
ISO 20252 establishes globally recognized terms, definitions, and service requirements for project management in research organizations. Processes outlined in ISO 20252 are designed to produce transparent, consistent, well-documented and error-free methods of conducting and managing research projects.
MMCG delivers market, opinion, and social research services to domestic and foreign business companies and non-government organizations, international research companies, international development organizations and government organizations throughout Mongolia and other regions including China, Russia, Central and Southeast Asia.
MMCG is the first company CIRQ has audited and certified to the new ISO 20252, which was updated and streamlined earlier this year. Benefits of the new standard include improved relevance to current market research stakeholder needs and inclusion of new data practices, including ethical requirements, and additional updated clauses on data management security that align with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The scope of MMCG’s certification includes Sampling, Fieldwork (data is collected through methodologies including PAPI, CAPI, CATI, FGDs, IDIs, and KIIs), Physical observation (including mystery shopping, shopping behavior and observations for social and other research assignments), Self-completion (including online questionnaires, diary projects, touch tone data entry, and postal surveys) and Data management and processing (using scientific, professional and internationally recognized methodologies, software and procedures) to be attested to ISO 20252 in accordance with Annexes A, B, C, E and F.
Founded in 2002, MMCG offers as its core research activity an extensive array of study areas in corporate and social sectors. In addition, the company also consults on marketing and sales, human resource capacity strengthening, corporate marketing and PR, and designing marketing and business plans. A subsidiary of the Insights Association, CIRQ (the Certification Institute for Research Quality) was established to provide assessment and certification services to market research firms seeking certification to ISO 20252 and ISO 27001. A non-profit entity, CIRQ is committed to providing timely, thorough and impartial assessments of its customers' quality management or information security management systems in regard to certification to corresponding standards. CIRQ was established in compliance with all ISO requirements for certification bodies that provide auditing and certification services. To conform to its mandate of objective and impartial audits to these ISO standards, CIRQ is independently operated and managed under the oversight of an independent Board of Directors and submits to annual moderation by external authorities on ISO certification bodies.
