Julio Franco

ZappiStore - Managing Director, Americas

Julio leads the Zappi's Americas team on all things client-facing; building and executing on programs that transform how organizations collect and utilize consumer insights.  Having the client perspective, Julio also serves as an in-house consultant to the product teams as they develop new methodologies and applications.  

Having joined Zappi in 2016, Julio brought with him both corporate and agency experience to the role. He was the Americas Director for Customer Insight at AIG Consumer Insurance, and operated as part of a leadership team that developed and established the Customer Insights function. As he consulted with business leaders around customer knowledge, insight, and strategy, he felt first hand how market research had become too slow to be effective; reason why he decided to join Zappi. 

Prior to joining AIG, he was a Vice President with Ipsos, where he worked at for over 10 years and developed expertise across qualitative and quantitative methodologies on a global level. Julio’s career in market research started in the early ‘00s at Napoleon Franco & CIA in Colombia, but he describes himself as a market research lifer, being deeply involved in the industry before it started paying the bills. Driven by a passion for people and an undying compulsion to understand them, he is also equipped with a degree in psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia.
