CT – Senator Kevin Witkos (R- 8) introduced S.B. 100, which would require that “no person shall use any device to change the name or telephone number on a caller identification display on the telephone that such person is calling, except when such person subscribes to a call blocking service provided by such person's telephone company.”

MRA is concerned that such a broad prohibition might prevent reasonable telephone research procedures, such as setting an outgoing caller identification to reflect a common, callable line.

MRA will be in contact with Sen. Witkos to clarify his intentions and explain our concerns.
